Checker Taxi was an American taxi company owned by Morris Markin. In 1950, the Yellow Cab Co. was reformed when the Ampol Petroleum Co. took control and they built a garage in the city with eight yellow checker cabs. Taxi phones were installed at the ranks because the company did not have two-way radios until the mid-1950s.

On June 18, 1923, the first Checker Cab rolls off the line at the Checker Cab Manufacturing Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Checker entered the passenger car market in the late 1950s, with models dubbed the Superba and the Marathon. In its peak production year of 1962, Checker rolled out some 8,173 cars; the great majority of those were taxis.

This small miniature checker taxi cab car is painted yellow but looks like it needs a wash as it has an aged, vintage look. The yellow cab looks a little beaten up and this makes it very authentic. the rear bumper looks like it has been hit and the molding on the front passenger sides of the vehicle is loose as if it was also hit. The wheels on this taxi cab are static and do not rotate.
The yellow cab is made of thin gauge tin metal.

SIZE:
Height - 5.0 Inches
Length - 12.5 Inches
Width - 6.0 Inches
